How the process works
You've decided that you need a plan. Good choice. Now what?
1. Click HERE for your FREE customized EAP.
2. Follow the directions in the comments of the document
3. Fill in the blank spaces
4. Stamp it "Official" (if you want to)
5. Tell everyone in your organization what it says and where it is located (they need to be able to find it if they have questions)
6. Take it for a test drive
7. Fix any holes or rough patches
8. File it
9. Review, update, exercise as needed
With the above list the process has been simplified, however, it IS possible to do this on your own. Depending on your particular needs and issues, most EAPs can be completed (Step 1 to Step 8 over the course of 30-60 days* for an organization that has never developed one. Reviewing and updating typically takes about one week*.
*Keep in mind that this is *NOT 30-60 eight hour days of work, nor is it a whole work week (5 days) of reviewing and updating.
A church typically meets for regular services about 3-4 hours a week, 1-3 days a week, and roughly 4-8 days per month. Utilizing email, phone, and other communications technologies, a total of anywhere between 8 and 24 actual hours might be spent, depending on the complexity of the location and the number of "moving pieces" there are to evaluate and coordinate, on the development of the EAP, start to finish.
